Dominika is an interdisciplinary artist, activist and educator. Drawing on speculative fictions, techn0fem1n1sm, erased histories and invisible landscapes, I work with immersive media to evoke the unseen sensorial.

Working with immersive sculptures, video installations, and sound-based performances I investigate how technology and mysticism mediate the perception of self within our environments and social constructs.

I use virtual reality, binaural sound, sensory deprivation, hypnosis, and meditation to amplify subjective exploration. These modes  allow a nuanced shifting of the senses, orienting the self to examine unseen power structures that guide the quotidian. The works often engage environmental issues, human rights, wellness and the nature of reality.

Through these heuristic explorations, one may experience glimpses of the imperceptible, opening up new dialogues or paradigm shifts through embodied  spaces of radical empathy.

Dominika is a hypnotist, psychonaut, ecoacoustician, surfer and professor at CUNY.  You can find Dominika collaborating as a co-founder of Temporary Agency, a member of WRRQ and HDYSYIA? as well as co-organizing The Visual Resistance Forums.
